Clay pricing for staffing agencies
By Drippay, Inc.Published 7 min read
Clay pricing has two meters. Data Credits pay for data bought from Clay’s partners. Actions pay for the platform work Clay runs for you. The plan price sets how many of each you start with, and you can top up.
This page uses the Clay pricing page checked October 6, 2026. It lists the starting prices Clay publishes and leaves Enterprise as the custom quote it is. dreach is adjacent rather than a Clay replacement. Clay is a workbench for building enrichment workflows. dreach is a finished service for staffing firms that flags past clients hiring again, names the hiring manager, and shows the warmest way in.

the short version
- Clay is the better choice if you have someone who will build and maintain enrichment tables, wants many data providers in one waterfall, and needs custom logic around your own lists.
- Start on Free if you want to learn the tool. Clay lists 100 Data Credits, 500 Actions a month, and up to 200 rows per table.
- Choose Launch or Growth if you will run workflows regularly. Growth adds CRM auto-sync, HTTP API integrations, webhooks, and priority support.
- Consider dreach beside Clay if nobody on the team has time to build tables, and the real gap is knowing which employers are hiring now and who to reach.
Current public Clay prices
Clay’s FAQ lists Free, Launch from $185 a month, Growth from $495 a month, and Enterprise with custom pricing and an annual commitment. The word “starting” matters. The extract of the page we checked does not say whether those figures assume monthly or annual billing, so confirm that on the live plan selector.

Data Credits and Actions
Clay says Data Credits pay for data from its marketplace, such as emails, phone numbers, and company data from more than 150 partners. Data Credits start at $0.05 each and get cheaper at volume. Actions measure the work Clay does: enriching, running a table, calling an AI model, sending data to another system, or exporting. Clay says Actions start at under $0.01 each.
If an enrichment returns no result, Clay says you are not charged Data Credits or Actions. If you bring your own API keys for a data provider, each run counts as one Action and uses no Data Credits.
Rollover, AI usage, and what changes the bill
Actions reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Data Credits do roll over. On Launch and Growth, unused credits can build up to twice the monthly amount. Enterprise can roll over up to 15 percent of the prior year’s purchased credits if the customer renews at an equal or higher commitment.
AI has two pricing modes. About 80 percent of models cost a flat number of Data Credits per task. Token-heavy models are priced by the tokens used, which Clay says has no markup. Those models show an estimate with a tilde, and the final cost is set after the run. A research-heavy table can cost more than a simple lookup.
- Rows per table and how often tables rerun.
- Which data providers you use, and whether you bring your own keys.
- Whether your AI prompts use fixed or variable-priced models.
- Top-ups when you pass the included Data Credits or Actions.
Questions to ask before you buy
Clay is a builder. The price is only part of the cost, because someone must design tables, tune prompts, and fix them when sources change. For a small staffing firm, that person’s time is often the larger line.
Test one real workflow end to end. Start from a list of your past clients, enrich the hiring contacts, and see how many rows pass and what they cost in credits and Actions. Then ask who owns it every week.
- Whether the starting prices assume monthly or annual billing.
- How many Actions a typical table run uses on your list size.
- What a Data Credit costs after the included amount is spent.
- Who builds, maintains, and checks the tables.
